Jeremy Paul Dwyer (born 3 December 1947) of Hastings, New Zealand was Mayor of Hastings (1986–1989 of Hastings City, and in 1989 of Hastings District Council). He was a Hastings city councillor from 1977 to 1981. He was an activist in the Social Credit Party, and was deputy leader of the League from 1977 to 1981. He stood for the League three times, coming third each time: in the for (654 votes); and in the and for (1,788 and 5,373 votes respectively). He was born in Waipawa and educated at the Central Hawkes Bay College and Ardmore Teachers’ Training College. He was a teacher and Head of Department at Te Aute College from 1972 to 1976. He married Marilyn McKay in 1983.
